Meet Fiona
Always fascinated by the human body and how it works, as a young kid growing up in a small country town in New Zealand, Fiona loved sports and pretty much played everything and anything, even hitting sixes as the only girl in an all-boy cricket team during her primary school years.
Her interest in health and well-being continued into adulthood as Fiona completed a Sports and Exercise Science Degree in 2003, with injury and rehabilitation being what captured her interest the most.
Wanting to add value in this field, Fiona learnt massage therapy after realising the significant benefits massage offer to assist the body to heal and relax. Fiona went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy Degree in 2008. In 2012, Fiona came to Melbourne and taught Clinical Pilates for a few years. Fiona has worked for 13 years as a physiotherapist in private practice settings, managing many elite sports teams, primarily in Netball and Rugby.
In 2019 Fiona moved to Melbourne with her husband and two young children and now resides on the Mornington Peninsula.
At the end of 2021, Fiona left the physiotherapy world, noticing the gaps when it came to the mainstream treatment of pain & injury. Fiona knows there is so much more to be explored in the space of emotional healing and mental wellbeing, and how energy is intrinsically linked to physical health.
In her conscientious pursuit to offer her clients the most effective & holistic treatment options available, Fiona learnt and now infuses Reiki into her massage sessions. The infusion of this energetic modality alongside her extensive science-based understanding of the physical body through her years in physio, elevates her sessions to beyond that of the majority in her field. You are guaranteed to come away in a state of deep relaxation and recalibration on all levels.
Fiona also leads our weekly clinical pilates sessions for the guests during their stay, assisting guests to build strength & maintain muscular conditioning whilst fasting. Her approach is gentle, personalised & supportive, tailoring her sessions to the individual, ensuring all levels of mobility are catered for.
“I’ve always been drawn to learn about reiki and its beauty. Learning reiki gave me the confidence to start my own business from home, where I perform holistic massage and reiki. I feel it is valuable to hold a safe space for a person and not only connect to their physical body but also to their mind and soul when I perform massage” - Fiona
